Boy in Sun

Like so many of my paintings over the first few years, this one was made from a photograph taken by my close friend while she was in the Philippines teaching mindfulness practice to aspiring therapists there. I was captivated by the boy’s eyes and the way the light selectively landed on his face. I hope I captured the intensity of his gaze.
