Old City Jerusalem with Figures

This painting was made based on a friend’s photograph she had taken in the old city of Jerusalem. I liked representing the pattern of light, and I liked painting the various figures in the photograph as I felt they added to the story. I wondered who they were, and whether or not they may have been somehow connected to each other. There was a mystery that I found compelling.
