Study of Men Talking

This painting is based on a photograph I took in Italy, and it was done very loosely and without too much detail. It was produced mostly for demonstration purposes. Like so many of my subject matters, I am always interested in the dynamics between people. Here, I wondered about the nature of their relationship, what they’re talking about, and perhaps what they’re thinking. Like other studies, I consider this painting as less complete and looser or rougher than is typical of my paintings.
